ASSIGNMENT: Design a four-stamp US postal service series that is rooted in and celebrates American history, culture and/or diversity.
CONCEPT: In Hawaiian culture, an ‘Aumakua is a family god or deified ancestor. Typically manifesting as animals, the ‘aumakua are protectors, watching over their family. The spiral motif symbolizes multiple cultural concepts of significance: growth, cycles and the interconnectedness of life, particularly with the natural world and the ocean.
The stamps won Silver in the New Talent Awards 2025.
